Shanyang Industrial Area is one of the components of the city's industrial area-Jinshan Industrial Area. At present completed area with perfect matching infrastructure is 10 sq.km. The area mainly develops chemical products, making industry, fine chemistry, electronic machinery, equipment making, textile industry, electronics, plastics and new construction materials, and it will become an important pivot in the line of Shanghai Chemistry Industry in the tenth five-year plan. Some world-famous enterprises such as Unilever, Taiwan's Giant Group, Japan.ese Jinjingtexian Company, American Markable Company, Shanghai's Asian Dragon Industrial Group, Zhejiang's Huafeng Group, have successively set up their plants in this industrial area. Chemistry are separately situated in the east and southwest of Shanyang town, providing advantaged conditions for Shanyang to rely on them to take part in, serve, form a complete set and extend relative industries. In addition to new industrial area, the structure adjustment of Shanyang's farming and sideline production has made solid steps in recent years; facility farming and urban farming have made great progress; some special large-scaled farming model bases have been set up, among which Meiyang Farm is awarded model of suburban farming innovation.
